Annual Meeting

 

Meeting called to order at 10:00 AM on November 13, 2021

 

Executive Board in Attendance

Michael Burrell - President

Willie Wirth - Vice President

Debbie Tompkins - Secretary

Todd Drew - Floater (Absent)

Bill Petras - Floater

 

HOA Board elections:

There were no candidates running for a position on the board.  All incumbents, Debbie Tompkins and Todd Drew, will continue in their current roles.  Three positions will be up for election at the 2022 annual meeting.

 

President’s Remarks:

  • The September 2021 meeting minutes were approved.
  • There were no new expenditures since the last annual report.
  • Annual dues will remain $400 per year for 2022.  $350 will go to the general fund and $50 will go to the road fund.
  • A new speedbump will be installed soon on Hunters Trail.

Secretary's Remarks: 

  • Reported homeowner inquiries via email.

 Committees:

Pool

  • The pool was winterized and closed for the season.
  • Grant Reynolds volunteered to serve as Legacy Pool Coordinator.  He can be contacted via email at hrlegacypool@gmail.com.

ARB

  • A few homeowners have sought ARB approvals...1 open action remains.
  • The HOA board is seeking a community volunteer to assist with the ARB.

Financial

  • 1 homeowner - 1 year behind in payment will been taken to small claims court.
  • 9 homeowners have not made payment for 2021.
  • $10,000 was added to the general fund.

 Homeowners Forum - 20 homeowners in attendance.  2 proxies recorded.

  • Is the pool parking lot closed along with the pool?  Board response: Yes
  • Can the Legacy HOA enforce golf cart/dirt bike restrictions?  Board response:  An amendment to the covenants regarding this issue requires a 2/3 homeowners vote.  Currently, this is not a Board enforcement issue.  Report issues to Horry County Police.
  • Report of continued problems with walkway leading to the middle school.  Board response:  A Legacy homeowner on the Middle School Improvement Council will present issues to the school council.  Legacy HOA has made multiple repairs to the fencing.
  • Report that the DOT fence on the berm is damaged.  Board Response:  The Board will notify DOT.
  • Who maintains the community and school signs at the entrance on Panther Parkway?  Board Response:  The signs are currently located on private property with restricted access.  The property and signage will be impacted by the future Forestbrook Road expansion.
  • The arrows for the speed bumps need to be repainted.  Board Response:  The Board will coordinate the repainting of the arrows.
  • Complaint about poor communication regarding annual meeting and proxy votes.  Board Response:  Sisbro reported that an employee retirement impacted the annual meeting notice and proxy mailing.  Sisbro intends to improve the level of service to our community.
  • Is the Legacy community Facebook page affiliated with the Legacy HOA?  Board Response:  No, the Facebook page is community supported by Legacy homeowners.  All Board communication will be posted on the HOA website (huntersridgelegacy.jimdo.com).
  • Homeowners wanting to improve community engagement through planned community events.  Board Response:  The Board received a volunteer homeowner willing to plan/coordinate community events. 
  • Was the road coating worth the investment?  Board Response:  Yes, repaving the road was cost prohibitive.  The Board secured a 5-year warranty with the road coating.  
  • Homeowner suggested a community sign to promote community information.  Board Response:  The Board asked the homeowner to present a design concept.

 Meeting was adjourned at 10:35 AM

 

The 2022 meetings will be on January 11th, March 8th, May 10th, July 12th, and September 13th at the Holy Lamb Lutheran Church on Forestbrook Road at 5:30 PM.

The next annual meeting will be on November 12th at 10:00 AM.
